  • VMware vCenter

Answer

Yes, ONTAP Select Deploy can manage clusters in 2 different vCenter appliances.
  • Add new vCenter management server where the ONTAP Select node(s) would reside and Add each ESXi host in the ONTAP Select Deploy vm GUI interface.
  • Run a cluster Refresh once the ONTAP Select Node is installed or vMotioned to the new vCenter.
  • For 2-node clusters, the HA Configuration latency requirements must be met between where ONTAP Select Deploy vm resides and where the ONTAP Select Nodes reside.
  • Capacity licenses are not tied to the vCenter or host that Select vms run on, they are tied to the ONTAP Select Node(s).

Additional Information

Backup of both ONTAP Select Node(s) and ONTAP Select Deploy vm are recommended before performing any administrative activities.
