MetroCluster switchover failed: The following clusters are not peered

Issue

  • Switchover simulation fails with the error message:

ClusterA::>  set -privilege advanced

ClusterA::*> metrocluster switchover -simulate true
Job failed: Unable to set node and cluster components for switchover operation. Use the "metrocluster operation show" 
command to view detailed error information. Fix the errors, then retry the command.

  • Metrocluster check results give a warning for component clusters.

Additional Information/Recovery Steps: Check system components in cluster ClusterA for negotiated-switchover: [Job 782] Job failed: Failed to set up the node and cluster components for the switchover operation. Use the "metrocluster operation show" command to view detailed error information. Resolve the errors, then try the command again.

  • MetroCluster operation displays the following:

ClusterA::> metrocluster operation show
       Operation: switchover-simulate
          Status: failed
          Errors: Failed to configure the node and cluster components for the switchover operation.
                  ClusterB (fatal): The following clusters are not peered with this cluster: ClusterZ. Create a peering 
                  relationship with these clusters, verify that the peer cluster is available using the "cluster peer                   show", then retry the command.
