Issue

Customer planning their first MetroCluster IP upgrade they have LIF warnings reported:

Subnet discovery failed during LIF replication. There might not be any ports on the destination cluster node "nodeA1" that are connected to subnet "172.00.000.00" in IPspace "Default" to place the LIF "LIF-1" of type "iscsi" for Vserver "ennetappb-svm1-mc".

  • iSCSI LIFs are on site-specific subnets, so DR partners have ports in the same broadcast domain but not on the source subnet.
  • The warning causes the MetroCluster subsystem to be reported as degraded in system health subsystem show, but system health alert show is empty and all other MetroCluster checks are OK.
