MetroCluster Flexarray fails to see disks After Motherboard Replacement

Issue

  • After replacing the motherboard on a MetroCluster node (stor87****2), the node could not see any disks—neither local nor partner disks—resulting in the following symptoms: “Normal giveback not possible: partner missing filesystem disks”
  • Node stuck in initializing/waiting-for-giveback state
  • Partner node reports:
    Normal giveback not possible: partner missing filesystem disks
  • Disk show -v output returns 0 disks

       *> disk show -v
             Local System ID: 53****12
             disk show: No disks attached to system.

  • Maintenance mode: sysconfig -v output for FC initiator ports (0e/0f) shows:
    slot 0: FC Host Adapter 0e (QLogic 8324 rev. 2, N-port, <UP>)
                    Firmware rev:      8.9.1
