Issue

Protecting DP-type volumes already a destination for existing SnapMirror relationships is not allowed in ONTAP System Manager.

  • Selecting Protect for DP volume in Volumes displays the warning message:

Volumes of type "Data Protection" can only be protected using the SnapMirror cloud policy or the Cloud Backup Service. Click on "More Options" and select "SnapMirror cloud policy" or "Cloud Backup Service" from the list of policies.
  • Selecting More Options displays the same warning message:

Volumes of type "Data Protection" can only be protected using the SnapMirror cloud policy or the Cloud Backup Service.
