Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.17.1
  • Windows Server
  • VMware ESXi 8.0.3
  • SnapMirror Business Continuity (SMBC)
  • SnapMirror Active Sync (SMAS)

Issue

  • After performing a SnapMirror Active Sync (SMAS) planned failover from Site A to Site B, only 4 iSCSI paths per LUN are visible on host end instead of the expected 8 paths (4 from Site A, 4 from Site B).
  • Attempts to rescan from the host side did not restore the missing paths.
  • No explicit ONTAP error codes were reported.
  • No APD (All Paths Down) or PDL (Permanent Device Loss) confirmed in logs
  • No storage-side, SAN, or SnapMirror configuration issues found
  • No known ONTAP defects identified for this behavior
