Microsoft Exchange Server databases are read-only when mounted from a Snapshot Clone

Issue

  • When a user clones a volume snapshot taken by SnapCenter in ONTAP System Manager, and maps the resulting LUN to an Initiator Group, the resulting Windows Volume is read-only.
  •  diskpart shows :
DISKPART> attributes volume
Read-only : Yes
Hidden  : No
No Default Drive Letter: No
Shadow Copy : Yes
