Applies to

  • Windows cluster host
  • SQL database
  • ISCSI LUN
  • Snapdrive

Issue

  • LUN size increased on storage side is not recognized by disk manager on windows host.
  • LUN is used by SQL database on host side.
  • There is SnapDrive installed to perform LUN resize operations, but LUN resize was done from storage side instead.
  • When LUN resize operation is performed from SnapDrive, SnapDrive will extend the disk on host side automatically.
  • But now the increased space is showing as raw partition for that disk on host side.
  • By clicking on healthy Raw partition, unable to extend volume as the option is greyed out.
