CONTAP-33193: During MetroCluster expansions from 2 to 4 or from 4 to 8 nodes, some SVMs might fall into a degraded state

Issue

  • Whilst expanding a MetroCluster from 2 to 4 or from 4 to 8 nodes, the 'metrocluster configure' command is used to refresh the configuration.
  • This command might return with a failure, leaving one or more storage virtual machines (SVMs, formerly known as Vservers) in a degraded state.
  • This issue occurs under the following conditions:
    • 2 to 4 or 4 to 8 node expansions of the MetroCluster have not completed successfully.
    • You have entered the "metrocluster vserver resync" command or the Configuration Replication Service's (CSR) baseline/rebaseline/flip rebaseline is being called internally.
