What is the impact of modifying the LDAP bind password?

Answer

  • The bind user is not local to ONTAP, if the password is modified on the LDAP server, it will be necessary to set it it to what it should be on the Storage server, so both passwords match.
  • The impact will be not being able to communicate with the LDAP servers during the time when the bind user's credentials are not in sync.
