Issue

  • VLAN ports (e.g., e0e-79 and e0g-63) appear as degraded in ONTAP due to L2 reachability issues.
  • Symptoms:

::> network port show -health -node <node_name>

  • Event Logs:

[nodeA: vifmgr: vifmgr.port.monitor.failed:error]: The "l2_reachability" health check for port e0e-79 (node nodeA) has failed. The port is operating in a degraded state.
[nodeB: vifmgr: vifmgr.port.monitor.failed:error]: The "l2_reachability" health check for port e0g-63 (node nodeB) has failed. The port is operating in a degraded state.
