Unable to write files due to maxdirsize limit reached

Issue

  • When attempting to write or copy a file to a single directory, Windows Explorer throws an error:

Error: 0x80070052: The directory or file cannot be created.

  • EMS reports:

Mon Oct 25 08:06:04 -0600 [filer01-01: wafl_exempt09: wafl.dir.size.max:error]: Directory size for fileid xxxxx in volume 
vol1 reached the maxdirsize limit.
