Issue

  • Unable to reach host using short name from vserver.
  • When we perform ping from LIF to host using short name, it fails with below error
::>network ping -lif lif1 -vserver svm1 -destination host1
Unknown host host1
  • Ping using FQDN name works fine
::> net ping -lif lif1 -vserver svm1 -destination host1.domain.com
host1.domain.com is alive
  • DNS configuration detail on vserver

::>dns show -vserver svm1
Vserver: svm1
Domains: doman.com
Name Servers: 10.100.x.x
