Scan timed-out errors from Trend Micro ServerProtect due to files skipped from scanning

Issue

  • When VScan is enabled, slowness is reported on share access and scan timed-out errors occur.
  • In avshim logs Scan Requests are received, but no verdict is returned from the AV Engine
  • Packet trace between the LIF the VScan server uses to connect, and the VScan server indicates a Scan Request is sent and the AV Engine is not attempting to open/read the file.
  • Trend Micro ServerProtect logs contain a message for each scan request with been skipped.
