Ping fails intermittently from ONTAP when destination has duplicate IP address

Issue

  • Ping is intermittently failing to gateway IP or any destination IP when there are multiple devices assigned same IP address.
  • ARP entry on Ontap shows incorrect mac address:
cdot_vsim_9_8::*> arp active-entry show -node cdot_vsim_9_8-01 -vserver cdot_vsim_9_8 -remotehost 10.216.41.1
(network arp active-entry show)
