Mounting cifs share on linux fails with error key has expired

Issue

  • Unable to mount volume on linux.
  • "key has expired" error is reported when trying to mount CIFS share on linux :
[root@123 ~]# sudo mount -t cifs //10.xx.xx.xx/prod-vol1 /dir -o credentials=/var/cifs-credentials
mount error(127): Key has expired
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
