Issue

  • Customers monitoring for domain controller (DC) connectivity issues using the EMS event secd.cifsAuth.problem may receive false alerts
  • This EMS event is also triggered by authentication failures due to invalid credentials (such as unknown username or bad password), which contradicts the event catalog description:

    ::> event catalog show -message-name secd.cifsAuth.problem

    Message Name: secd.cifsAuth.problem
    Severity: ERROR
    Description: This message occurs when a CIFS authentication attempt fails for any reason other than an unknown username or bad password.
