LIF on VLAN port has no connectivity

Issue

  • For a LIF assigned to a VLAN port, the LIF is not reachable from any destination local to the subnet
  • By the same token (and because the gateway is unreachable), remote devices are unreachable as well
  • The switch does not appear to be learning the port's MAC address on the necessary VLAN
  • The switch port is a trunk port with the correct VLAN configured
  • Packet traces show the outbound traffic from ONTAP is addressed with the correct VLAN tag
