  • How to terminate CIFS for a particular volume without affecting other volumes' CIFS accessibility.
  • Unable to take a volume offline if CIFS sessions are active on the CIFS share.
  • Run the 'vol offline' command, which reports the following:

vol offline: cifs open files prevent operation

ONTAP 9

  • There is no way to close sessions based specifically on the volume accessed. Other parameters will need to be used.
  • How to close an open CIFS session using many different parameters.
