Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • CIFS/SMB

Description

  • ONTAP does not allow renaming of the CIFS shares.
  • Shares need to be deleted and recreated for the same path. This process does not impact the data that exists in the share.
  • The access is based on the share permissions that is set upon creation. As long as the new share has the same permissions as the old one it will retain its access.
