Issue

  • ONTAP responds to certain operations with NFS4ERR_ADMIN_REVOKED from which the ESXi NFS client is not able to recover
  • On vSphere client GUI:
The lock protecting /vmfs/volumes/xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx-0000-000000000000/vm/vm.vmdk has been lost, possibly due to underlying storage issues...
  • vmkernel logs warnings:
WARNING: NFS41: NFS41FileOpCloseFile:3718: NFS41FileCloseFile failed: Lost previously held disk lock
