DNS Time Out due to Duplicate IP Address

Issue

  • DNS check command is failing.
  • ::> dns check -vserver <svm_name>
  • The following errors in the EMS logs were observed:
    • secd.dns.server.timed.out:error: DNS server 10.1.2.3 did not respond to vserver=svm1 within timeout interval.
    • netinet.ethr.duplct.ipAdrr: Duplicate IP address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX!! sent from Ethernet address:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX.
  • Bouncing or migrating the LIF restored connectivity briefly, but the issue reoccurs very quickly.
  • Packet loss to the gateway and duplicate IP address warnings were observed.
