CIFS clients disconnected when nblade.smbsignaturemismatch events observed in EMS

Issue

  • CIFS clients are intermittently disconnected from CIFS shares and unable to access data
  • Rebooting the client temporarily resolves the issue
  • nblade.smbsignaturemismatch events are observed in EMS when the client disconnects occur
  • Packet traces show the clients were originally signing, then stopped signing when this occurs
  • Instead of a valid signature they send a signature of all zeroes
  • Signing is not required on the SVM in question
