Issue

ONTAP's vserver object-store-server audit feature writes S3 audit events as JSON, but the JSON writer does not escape the backslash () character inside domain\username strings for LDAP FastBind identities (example: amr\hwoltzen). Per RFC 8259 §7, unescaped backslashes inside JSON strings are invalid. The malformed JSON causes Splunk and other strict JSON parsers (jq, Python json libraries) to reject or skip records, breaking the customer’s security-monitoring ingestion pipeline for all buckets on the affected SVM.
