Issue

  • In ONTAP 9.18.1 and later, a system disruption can occur on a node with a "thread hung" error on NFSv4 networking threads when NFSv4.1 or NFSv4.2 clients perform concurrent file open, lock and close operations.
  • All NFSv4 networking threads become hung waiting on a lock, resulting in a node system disruption.
  • The following strings are examples:
page fault (supervisor read data, page not present) on VA 0x10 cs:rip 0x20:0xffffffffac61ffdc rflags 0x10202 in process NwkThd_xx on release 9.18.1 (C)
thread (NwkThd_xx) on cpu xx hung for 4001 milliseconds in process NwkThd_xx on release 9.18.1 (C)
