CONTAP-673574: Node hangs or disruptions seen with NFSv4.1 or NFSv4.2 workloads

Issue

  • A system disruption can occur on a node with a "thread hung" error or pagefault panic on NFSv4 networking threads when NFSv4.1 or NFSv4.2 clients perform concurrent file open, lock and close operations.
  • All NFSv4 networking threads become hung waiting on a lock, resulting in a node system disruption or hitting the node disruption due to pagefault panic.
  • The following strings are examples:
    page fault (supervisor read data, page not present) on VA 0x10 cs:rip 0x20:0xffffffffac61ffdc rflags 0x10202 in process NwkThd_xx on release 9.18.1 (C)
    thread (NwkThd_xx) on cpu xx hung for 4001 milliseconds in process NwkThd_xx on release 9.18.1 (C)
    page fault (supervisor read data, page not present) on VA 0x10 cs:rip 0x20:0xffffffffa0fd4f73 rflags 0x10297 in process NwkThd_02 on release 9.7P17 (C) on Sat Jun  6 09:11:11 UTC 2026
