Issue

  • Delays (some even minutes) occur when performing file operations (create, delete, rename, move) on ONTAP CIFS/SMB shares with symptoms:
    • Explorer.exe may freeze (“{}Not Responding{}”) or crash.
    • File/folder changes are not reflected until pressing F5 (refresh).
    • No specific error messages are displayed.
    • Packet trace analysis indicates >60s delay and prior to that a Cancel Request
