Issue

  • When enabling Kerberos AES encryption types for ONTAP SMB/CIFS, the operation may fail with:
    • {{Kerberos Error: KDC has no support for encryption type.}}
  • This is seen with Windows Server 2025 domain controllers where RC4 is no longer supported and the ONTAP CIFS server is configured for RC4-only Kerberos encryption types.
