  • When Dynamic Access Control (DAC) is enabled and a client connects using NTLM, the system attempts to collect claims for the user via S4U2Self, regardless of the user involved.
  • In environments primarily using NTLM, numerous NULL user attempts are common, such as when applications running as "system authority" try to access shares on the storage controller.
  • Failures in S4U2Self are logged in EMS due to limitations.
  • Consequently, customers using both DAC and NTLM may see many secd.krb.s4u2self entries in EMS logs.
