Issue

  • An error is generated after entering credentials when attempting to join a domain controller:
    Error: command failed: Failed to create the Active Directory machine account "NAME". Reason: Kerberos Error: Message stream modified.

  • This can also impact operations that require ONTAP to sync a computer account password via KPASSWD. This involves cifs domain password reset and\or modifying Kerberos advertised-enc-types.
