Issue

ESX NFSv4.1 clients can encounter a problem with lock reclaims on NFSv4.1, when session trunking is enabled. If a client is using session trunking on multiple lifs, and has an outstanding locking request to the server and one of the trunked data LIF migrates to another node, the client is unable to complete its lock reclaims, resulting in VMs being marked as “poweroff.” VMWare has raised DCPN Case 00129777 to address this issue.
