Firmware for the following components is updated automatically if the current version is older than the firmware that is bundled with the ONTAP upgrade package:
  • BIOS/LOADER
  • Service Processor (SP) or baseboard management controller (BMC)
  • Storage shelf
  • Disk
  • Flash Cache
  • NIC or HBA
