Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Automated non disruptive upgrade (ANDU)

Issue

  • When attempting to perform ONTAP upgrade through System Manager, it reports upgrade is still in progress on a node (for over 100 days).
  • From the CLI, running cluster image show-update-progress -instance indicates upgrade in-progress and one or more Warnings, such as:

Warning: LIF "cluster-01_mgmt" for Vserver "cluster" is not hosted on a network port.,
Warning: Manual validation checks need to be performed. Refer to the Upgrade Advisor Plan or "Performing manual
checks before an automated cluster upgrade" section in the "Clustered Data ONTAP Upgrade Express Guide" for the remaining
validation checks that need to be performed before update. Failing to do so can result in an update failure or an I/O disruption.,
Warning: None of the configured DNS servers are reachable for the following Vservers: svm1. There might be other Vservers for which DNS servers are not reachable.,

  • However, no upgrade is in progress in upgrade-revert show output and cluster version is operating at the desired level (the version that ANDU says is in-progress)
