The recommendation will be to perform a full upgrade procedure (e.g., ANDU).

Additional Information

  • Booting using a backup image may cause incompatibility issues in different services and labels, especially between the major version upgrades (e.g., 9.12 to 9.13), which may lead to system panics.
  • In cases when the backup image is higher than the current ONTAP image you can refer to the KB.
