  • ONTAP is designed for many concurrent users, not a single user/workload
  • ONTAP has multiple affinities, designed to support concurrent workloads across different volumes
    • One volume is assigned to a single-volume affinity
  • A single FlexVol will hit a logical processing limit and that will be the maximum that ONTAP can provide for that volume
  • The system is capable of more, but ONTAP will be limited by a single-volume workload
