Issue

  • Alerts about failed authentication login attempts to vserver are reported
  • EMS reports one or more of the following alerts:
[mgwd: security.invalid.login:alert]: Failed to authenticate login attempt to Vserver: SVM, username: userName, application:  ssh
[mgwd: security.invalid.login:alert]: Failed to authenticate login attempt to Vserver: SVM, username: userName, application:  ontapi
[mgwd: security.invalid.login:alert]: Failed to authenticate login attempt to Vserver: SVM, username: userName, application:  http
NOTE:
  • In this message, username: userName indicates that the username specified during the login attempt is userName.
  • It does not mean that the user itself is issuing or sending the message.
  • The appropriate application name corresponding to each authentication method is displayed in the application field.
  • The alerts may also be received via email:
