Answer

  • This is an e-mail that NetApp's ASUP server sends along with a user-triggered ASUP log attached mail due to the related EMS event including the keyword of test (case insensitive).

For example:
lccls91001-01::> system node autosupport invoke -node lccls91001-01 -type test
lccls91001-01::> system node autosupport invoke -node lccls91001-01 -type all -message test
lccls91001-01::> system node autosupport invoke -node lccls91001-01 -type all -message test2
lccls91001-01::> set d
Warning: These diagnostic commands are for use by NetApp personnel only.

lccls91001::*> event log show -message-name callhome.*
Time                Node             Severity      Event
------------------- ---------------- ------------- ---------------------------
12/19/2023 12:28:40 lccls91001-01    NOTICE        callhome.invoke.all: User triggered complete call home for USER_TRIGGERED (ALL:test2)
12/19/2023 09:45:24 lccls91001-01    NOTICE        callhome.invoke.all: User triggered complete call home for USER_TRIGGERED (ALL:test)
12/19/2023 10:50:42 lccls91001-01    NOTICE        callhome.invoke: Call home for USER_TRIGGERED (TEST)

  • This acknowledgment e-mail is only sent to the e-mail addresses specified in -to (List of To Addresses) field if ASUP's parameter -support (Send AutoSupport Messages to Vendor Support) is also set as enable

NOTE: Even though ASUP's parameter -support (Send AutoSupport Messages to Vendor Support) is set as disable the following TWO conditions will still trigger NetApp Automated AutoSupport Acknowledgement:

  1. Manually upload user-triggered ASUP log (with xxx.7z format and test keyword contained) to NetApp support site by either AutoSupport Upload or NetApp Authenticated File Upload.
  2. Send user-trigger ASUP with TEST keyword via System Manager GUI.
