Why is BMC firmware not upgraded after the ONTAP upgrade?

Answer

  • The BMC firmware upgrade is attempted during the ONTAP upgrade only if the BMC image bundled with the target ONTAP is greater than the version already running in the system. 
  • To verify which BMC firmware is bundled with ONTAP image, refer to SP and BMC Firmware/ONTAP Support Matrix
