Applies to

  • NetApp AFF-C250
  • Advanced Drive Partitioning (ADP)
  • RAID-DP (Double Parity)
  • RAID-TEC (Triple Parity)
  • Existing RAID-DP with 5 data disks + 2 parity disks + 1 spare disk

Answer

  • The existing aggregate capacity remains unchanged because the spare partitions in RAID-DP are added to the RAID groups during conversion to RAID-TEC.
  • RAID-DP: 7 partitions (5 data + 2 parity) + 1 spare
  • RAID-TEC: 8 partitions (5 data + 3 parity)
  • Data partitions remain the same (5), so usable capacity does not change.
