Answer

  • ONTAP's base layer runs on the FREEBSD shell which is structured in a tree format.
  • Once you are in one of the various branches, your options within that branch become limited to those that apply to it.
  • Although some commands may work if they are typed out, they will not show as an option that is available or allow you to tab complete them.
