Answer

  • auto-giveback:
Controls whether a node that was taken over by its partner automatically gives back (returns to normal operation) after it is repaired and rebooted.
When the repaired node boots up, the partner node detects it and initiates the auto-giveback process.
Default setting: Enabled (true).
Does not apply in cases where the takeover was due to a panic or similar failure.
  • auto-giveback-after-panic:
Controls whether the giveback process is automatically initiated after a takeover caused by a partner node's panic or similar failure.
Independent of the auto-giveback setting.
If auto-giveback is disabled (false) but auto-giveback-after-panic is enabled (true), the giveback will still occur automatically after a panic.
  • Behavior during manual takeover:
If an administrator performs a manual takeover, and auto-giveback is enabled, the giveback process will automatically occur after the taken-over node recovers and the specified delay time has elapsed.
