Unable to create consistency groups snapshots in OpenStack

Issue

  • Taking a consistency group snapshot in the OpenStack GUI fails.
  • The following wafl.sis.clone.create.failed error was seen in the ONTAP event log:
Tue Feb 21 10:25:49 +0000 [Cluster01: svc_queue_thread: wafl.sis.clone.create.failed:info]: File clone create of clone file /vol/openstack/snapshot-7cb39749-d016-4ae9-b0d9-xxxxxxxxxxxx (fileid: 0) from source file /vol/openstack/.snapshot/2dd964d5-33e1-4ad7-b1bd-xxxxxxxxxxxx/volume-30b1ee53-bad4-484f-a207-xxxxxxxxxxxx (fileid: 18844) in volume openstack failed with error:Volume is full or volume crossed automatic deletion threshold. at line 0 with src_fsid 1055, dst_fsid 0, src_snapid 87, dir_fileid 64, type Local, category from_zapi.
  • A similar error is also seen in the OpenStack cinder.log that specifies the additional space needed:

2023-03-14 09:41:30.085 5778 ERROR oslo_messaging.rpc.server NetAppDriverException: Create group snapshot failed (NetApp API failed. Reason - 28:Clone operation failed to start: Volume is full or volume crossed automatic deletion threshold..Additional 531619192KB space is required for clone create to succeed.).
