SSH Connection unexpectedly closed on newly added nodes

Issue

  • The cluster is in a mixed state with ONTAP 9.15 installed on old nodes and ONTAP 9.16 installed on new nodes.
  • Unable to connect to the node IP address and cluster management over the SSH to newly added nodes
  • The connection to the SP/BMC is working
  • The session is getting closed immediately with the error message:
kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
Connection closed by 192.168.1.101 port 22
