RAID label version mismatch during headswap

Issue

  • During a head swap to a new platform, the new controller booted with a higher ONTAP version than the rest of the cluster
  • When trying to correct the ONTAP image to the lower version, an error similar to the below is shown:

[localhost:raid.assim.disk.badlabelversion:ALERT]: Disk/aggr0_new/plex0/8d.10.12P3[...] has a disk label with version number (18), which is not supported by this Data ONTAP release (5-17).
raid: Unable to find root aggregate. Reason: Disk label version number is not supported by this Data ONTAP release.
[localhost:cf.fm.versionMismatch:ALERT]: Failover monitor: raid version mismatch detected: 18/17
