Volumes/qtrees

Answer

  • When calculating space usage at the qtree level via quota reporting, certain metadata and internal space components (such as filesystem metadata, inodes, performance metadata, etc.) are not included. These components are only calculated at the volume level.
  • Additionally, storage efficiency features (like deduplication and compression) are applied at the volume level but not reflected in qtree quota usage. Quota accounting is based on logical data, not physical or efficient space.
