OTS: VM does not boot up

Issue

  • OTS fails to boot due to an error: open_emulation_file: No /dev/nvd0 file found post Ontap Upgrade.
  • After moving the OTS virtual machine (VM) to an ESXi host with version 8.x/upgrading ESXi to version 8.x, the VM fails to boot up with error messages on the console:
    • No firmware was updated, so no need to reboot
    • NVRAM Device /dev/nvd0 not found
