Issue

  • SIS clones take 15 seconds to create and are used for bulk deployment of VM's.
  • Data ONTAP cannot create a Single Instance Storage (SIS) clone it will instead revert to using the traditional Block Copy Engine (BCE) that can take hours for a large VM.
  • Data ONTAP has a deduplication logical size data limit of 640 TB regardless of the size of the volume.
