Node does not boot during automatic upgrading by System Manager

Issue

  • Automatic upgrading of ONTAP by System Manager does not progress on the way and a node is not booting.
  • EMS log
ERROR upgrademgr.update.pausedErr: The automated update of the cluster has been paused due to the following reason:  Node "node1": Error: {Node "node2" is not in "waiting for giveback" state.}, Action: {Use the "storage failover show" to verify that node "node2" is in one of the following states: "waiting for giveback" or "connected".}.
 
  • System Manager doesn't appear the resuming button.
  • Node 2 has completed the upgrade after a manual reboot.
  • Node 1 has completed the upgrade task but it has not been modified to a new boot image of the upgrade version.
