- Add capacity to a local tier (expanding an aggregate)
Description
This article describes how to add new disks to existing aggregates to increase storage capacity for its associated volumes.
Notes:
- All operation requires CLI. Please avoid using the ONTAP System Manager GUI, as it tends to prioritize selecting already partitioned spare disks, which may not be desirable.
- Read About this task of CLI tab on Add capacity to a local tier (add disks to an aggregate) before the operation.
- Useful commands:
::> run -node * -c sysconfig -r
command can help you to confirm the assigned disks, partitions, and current aggregate configuration.::> storage disk show -partition-ownership
command can assist you in determining the ownership of disks and partitions.
