Applies to

  • MetroCluster IP
  • ONTAP 9
  • NetApp Storage Encryption (NSE)

Issue

After disk encryption has been enabled in Metrocluster IP, for local disks, the command storage encryption disk show output shows the key.
However, for remote site disks, status is "miss"

SiteA::> storage encryption disk show
Disk     Mode Data Key ID
-------- ---- ----------------------------------------------------------------
1.0.24   data 000000000000000001000000000001000XXXXXXXXXXX1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
1.0.25   data 000000000000000001000000000001000XXXXXXXXXXX1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
1.0.26   data 000000000000000001000000000001000XXXXXXXXXXX1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
.....
2.0.24   miss -
2.0.25   miss -
2.0.26   miss -
2.0.27   miss -

The command storage encryption disk show-status output shows different numbers of disks that were modified on both Metrocluster sites:
