Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • SNMP

Answer

  • No, ONTAP does not currently have this ability.
  • SNMP traphosts by default will be added to the first configured community:

Example:

::> snmp show
location: RTP
authtrap: 1
init: 1
traphosts:
SNMP-Traphost-1.net (SNMP-Traphost-1.net) <192.168.1.3> Community: community1
SNMP-Traphost-2.net  (SNMP-Traphost-2.net) <192.168.1.4> Community: community1
SNMP-Traphost-3.net  (SNMP-Traphost-3.net) <192.168.1.5> Community: community1
community:
ro community2
ro community1

  • How we want to be configured:

traphosts:
SNMP-Traphost-1.net (SNMP-Traphost-1.net) <192.168.1.3> Community: community1
SNMP-Traphost-2.net  (SNMP-Traphost-2.net) <192.168.1.4> Community: community2
SNMP-Traphost-3.net  (SNMP-Traphost-3.net) <192.168.1.5> Community: community2
